Altogether 2 845 students voted in the elections for the Council of Representatives. The Council consists of 37 representatives and is the highest decision making body of the Student Union of the University of Oulu. Voter turnout was only 22,4 percent, compared to the 25,9 percent of the previous election in 2007.
Biggest group in the Council will be Tieteellinen vaalirengas (“Scientific electoral circle”) with 12 representatives. It consists of students studying natural sciences, medicine and IT. Pertti Alakorpi representing the electoral alliance Kansankynttilät (teacher students from Kajaani) got the largest number of personal votes, 79.

Students aligned with the Centre party and the Coalition 5 representatives
Students aligned with the Social democrats, Green party and Red green students 3 representatives
