You will get your personal student card when you become a member of the Student Union. With your card you'll get discounts e.g. in student restaurants all over Finland and (-50%) from national bus and train tickets.

The same student card gives you also local benefits and special treatments in about 100 local companies, restaurants, shops, drug stores, hairdressers etc. Just show your card whenever you are shopping!

There are 2 different types of cards: Antenna and Lyyra.

Antenna is a traditional student card that simply indicates that you are a student in the University of Oulu and are entitled to student discounts. Antenna card is ordered by filling out a form, which is returned to the University Student Services. Antenna card costs EUR 5.

Lyyra card includes also several services. Lyyra card is ordered in the internet. Lyyra card costs EUR 14,50.

You can order the Lyyra card online at http://www.lyyra.fi. If you do not have a Finnish identity number, you need your student number and a digital passport size photo of yourseld. If you don't have internet banking in a Finnish bank, you can pay for the card in the Student Union Office (choose bank transfer when ordering).

Cards are not manufactured or delivered during the holiday season from Midsummer to the end of July. However, you should order the card as early as possible so that you can make the most of your membership benefits. You can enjoy all that the Lyyra portal has to offer immediately once you’ve ordered and paid for the card.

In addition to the student discounts, the Lyyra student card offers you:

• convenient way to make payments with the card on campus
• a possibility to use your Lyyra card as a library card in the Oulu University Library
• a wide range of services on the Lyyra portal (also available without the lyyra card)

Lyyra portal:

The Lyyra portal is available to all Student Union members. To use these online services, you don’t need to order a card. You can simply sign up for the portal on the registration page at http://www.lyyra.fi. You’ll need your own university email address to sign up. When you order the card, the codes will be sent straight to your own email box in the Lyyra online service without need for separate registration.

The portal is a virtual meeting point for students, the university, student associations, service providers and cooperation partners, where you can:

• keep track of your Lyyra card transactions and transfer money to your Lyyra account from your online bank
• find the local and national student benefits that you’re interested in
• look for and find your student friends, make new friends and set up groups
• read messages from the university community and its partners for news on the latest benefits and what’s going on in the student world
