Have you always wanted to work for a good student life? Do you want to make sure that the queues for the FSHS remain steady? Does the execution of remote teaching make your blood boil? These and many other questions related to student life are dealt with in the Executive Board of OYY. During a year in the Board you get to develop your leadership and interaction skills, and network with other student union operators throughout Finland. In the Board you get to make the everyday life of students better, develop the quality of studies and organize events for all students of the University of Oulu. At the same time you can develop your project management skills and learn to influence the decision-making at the University and in society.
The Board offers a wide range of varying tasks, and the activity is guided by the action plan approved by the Student Council as well as every board member’s own interest towards the matters. The applicants for the Board don’t have to be fully-fledged student influencers, but rather a desire to improve your knowledge and skills is enough. Every present member of OYY is qualified to apply for the Board.
A position in the Board is a position of trust, which requires commitment to weekly work, for example, attending Board meetings and advancing and developing projects and continuous action. Most of the work takes place during office hours but for example, events and collaboration between organizations happen during evenings as well.
