Legal guidance free of charge for the members of OYY

The members of OYY can get legal guidance free of charge. The advice service is provided by a solicitor’s office called Asianajotoimisto Marja-Riitta Immonen (address: Pakkahuoneenkatu 5 A 1, 90100 Oulu).

The office has student advice days during the Autumn term 2018 on the following dates: Tue 20.11 and Tue 11.12. On these days you can walk straight into the office between 14.30 and 16.00. You don’t need to book an appointment. But do bring your student ID card with you. Unfortunately the office does not provide legal guidance over the phone.

For more information on the legal advice service contact the Specialist in Social Affairs at the Student Union ( or visit the web page of the solicitor’s office (the pages are only in Finnish).

OYY rejoices to increase the number of study psychologists

The Student Union of the University of Oulu (OYY) thanks the University of Oulu that the long-term objective of OYY to increase resources for study psychology services has been achieved. This autumn, at the University works two study psychologists and one trainee. Earlier the number of study psychologists has been too small compared to the need: the university has had to buy this service from an external actor in order to have the statutory obligations been handled.

A student can make an appointment for Study Psychologists when he or she needs help with study related problems such as learning, time or stress management or wellbeing, when other student advising has not proved to be helpful.
