Dear doctoral researcher, welcome to the meeting of the Doctoral Researchers’ Section (DRS)!

The sixts meeting of DRS 2022 has an expert speech on 13.06.2022 Monday at 15:00 EET (Finland Time Zone) in DRS Teams space. Guest speaker is Prateek Singh (MSc.) who will talk about his research career. You are warmly welcome to ask him questions.

Prateek Singh is a bioengineer turned entrepreneur living in Finland. He holds degrees as an engineer in biotechnology and Master’s degree in biochemistry and protein science. Most of his work on his Master’s thesis was done in Zürich, Switzerland, where his fascination for microtechnology was sparked.

Prateek currently leads a 21-person team at Finnadvance , an EU funded startup developing platform technologies for better modeling diseases-on-chips, providing alternatives for reducing and replacing animal tests in drug R&D.

DRS meets once a month and the meetings are open to all dissertation researchers. The meeting will discuss current issues that have arisen in the various institutions, but it is also a place where issues that should be promoted can be raised. The role of the section is to act both as a network and support for doctoral researchers and as a trustee. Among other things, the section has taken forward the title issue of the doctoral researcher and the employment contract issue of grant researchers.
