Welcome to Advocacy Section on 24.9.!

The third Advocacy Section meeting of the year will be held during Sustainable Development Week on Thursday, September 24th, starting at 5:00 pm at Tellus Backstage. Refreshments will be provided for registered participants, so be sure to sign up via the Kide.app — link at the end of this text! (But if you forgot to sign up, don’t worry, you’re still welcome to join, even without pizza…)

The Advocacy Section event is open to all students and addresses current topics related to students and student organizations. This time, the program is as follows:

Our first topic of the evening will, of course, be sustainable development. What sustainability measures do you think the university should implement? How could OYY improve its own operations in terms of sustainability?

Our second topic comes from the field of social policy and focuses on next spring’s parliamentary elections. We’ll present OYY’s new parliamentary election programme and provide an overview of what students can expect from the upcoming elections. To start off, we’ll also briefly revisit how the last parliamentary elections actually went.

Regarding international affairs, we’ll discuss various current issues related to the theme. Among other things, we’ll examine how well new international students have integrated into the community and how we can address any challenges that have arisen.

Lastly on this meeting will be the education policy segment, where we’ll delve into current issues related to higher education.

Welcome!
