The application for the Chair positions of the Doctoral Researcher Section (DRS) is open and we need people interested in doctoral students’ advocacy and cooperation for a two-year term. The Chairs of the Doctoral Researcher Section also represent doctoral students in the Graduate School Management Group (UniOGS).

The Chair duties include:

• Management of the section
• Representing doctoral researchers at Graduate School level and in the Student Union
• Helping PhD students in different everyday situations
• Organizing joint activities, e.g. events and maintains the doctoral researchers’ social network

DRS meetings are held approximately six times a year, and the UniOGS management group meets four times a year. A reward of €30 is paid for chairing DRS meetings, and if the person is not an employee of  the University of Oulu, it is possible to receive a meeting fee for UniOGS meetings. The department works bilingually, so knowledge of the Finnish language is not required! However, OYY membership is required to function in the Student Union’s positions.

OYY’s Board elects the Chair and Vice-Chair for a two-year term based on applications. Apply on 24th of November by using the form below!
