OYY is looking for nominations for receivers of the OYY academic honorary decorations
The academic honorary decorations will be awarded at the Student Union anniversary celebrations to honour the work that has been done for the students. We request you to send in the nominations on Wednesday, 15 January at the latest.
The Student Union commemorates distinguished people in the academic community with honorary decorations. There are four classes of OYY’s academic honorary decorations: a badge of honour, and the first, second and third class medals. With these decorations, the Student Union has been able to honour different types of work that has been done for the students already for five decades since 1965.
The Student Union of the University of Oulu (OYY) is requesting its member organisations to provide their nominations for receivers of the OYY’s academic honorary decorations. The deadline for the nominations is 15 January 2025. The decorations will be awarded as a part of the Annos 65 anniversary ball, which will take place on 22 February 2025.
The organisations can nominate candidates for receiving a decoration with a form.
The Board of OYY awards the decorations based on its Rules for Honorary Decorations at the proposal of the Honorary Committee. You can find the rules from OYY’s website on the documents page: https://www.oyy.fi/en/about-us/documents/. The decision-making will not account for the positions of trust of the nominated candidates which have begun during 2025. Exceptional activity, acting as a Chair or working within OYY receive special recognition in the decision-making.
