Apply to become a student representative of administration for the 2026–2027 term.
At the University of Oulu, students are represented by students, who are called hallopeds. A halloped, or student representative in the administration, is the voice of students in decision-making. There are over a hundred hallopeds at the University of Oulu, and they are influential throughout the university administration, from The Board of Examiners to the Education Committees. Student Union is looking for new student representatives for the two-year-term of 2026-2027. The call is open fro 17 March to 31 March. Open positions listed below (member+vice member):
Currently open student representative positions within the faculties:
Faculty of Science
– Faculty Council (0+3)
– Education Committee (0+1)
Faculty of Medicine
– Faculty Council (0+2)
Faculty of Technology
– Faculty Council (0+1)
– Education Committee (0+1)
Faculty of ITEE
– Faculty Council (0+1)
Currently open student representative positions for doctoral researchers:
– Doctoral Education Committee of Technology and Natural Sciences (1+0)
– Doctoral Education Committees of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (2+0)
Only students of the respective faculty can be selected for that faculty’s positions. Student members are paid a fee of €44,50 per meeting for attending meetings of the faculty-level positions, provided they are not part of the university staff.
