At the University of Oulu, students are represented by students, who are called hallopeds. A halloped, or student representative in the administration, is the voice of students in decision-making. There are over a hundred hallopeds at the University of Oulu, and they are influential throughout the university administration, from The Board of Examiners to the Education Committees. Student Union is looking for new student representatives for the two-year-term of 2026-2027. Open positions listed below (member+vice member):

Currently open student representative positions for doctoral researchers:
– Doctoral Education Committee of Technology and Natural Sciences (1+0)
– Doctoral Education Committees of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (2+0)
Only students of the respective faculty can be selected for that faculty’s positions. Student members are paid a fee of €44,50 per meeting for attending meetings of the faculty-level positions, provided they are not part of the university staff.
