OYY's Board was organised - Kokko-Tollola and Haapala elected as Vice Chairs

The OYY Board divided its responsibilities at the organisational meeting on 14.1.

The OYY Board held its organizational meeting on Tuesday 14.1.2025 At the meeting, the responsibilities of the Board members were divided and the Vice Chairs were elected. The first vice chair for 2025 will be literature, history of sciences and ideas general education student Karoliina Kokko-Tollola, and the second vice chair will be health sciences student Jonne Haapala. 

 

The responsibilities of the Board are divided as follows:

 

Social affairs: Janne Väisänen

Wellbeing: Miikka Lukkaroinen

Academic affairs: Jonne Haapala

Organisations: Carolina Kempas

Events: Karoliina Kokko-Tollola

International affairs: Aprotim Paul

Communication and sustainable development: Tiina-Kaisa Nikkinen

 

The organisation kummis are Carolina Kempas, Jonne Haapala, Aprotim Paul and Miikka Lukkaroinen. The organisation kummis keep in touch with their respective organisations, provide support in case of problems and act as a link between the organisations and the OYY. 

 

This year’s Action Plan includes four Action Plan projects, the responsibilities for which were also shared among the board members. Familiarizing students with advocacy project is led by Jonne Haapala. The aim of the project is to develop interaction between students, organisations and OYY, to share information and provide opportunities to discuss current issues in lobbying. The project Familiarizing students with the student union’s services and events is the responsibility of Vilma Sippola. The aim of the project is to present the services offered by the OYY in a better and more coherent way and to develop the activities and services internally as well.  Promoting student well-being through peer tutoring project is under the responsibility of Miikka Lukkaroinen. The project focuses in particular on the relaunch of the well-being tutoring service. Active societal advocacy project is led by Janne Väisänen and Tiina-Kaisa Nikkinen. The aim of the project is to highlight issues of importance to students in the spring municipal and regional elections, and to encourage students to vote.
