OYY’s Vilma Sippola has been elected to the Board of National Union of University Students in Finland!
The Board of SYL was elected at the General Assembly 13–14 November.
OYY’s candidate Vilma Sippola was elected to the board of National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) for the year 2026. This year Sippola works as the Chair of OYY’s Board.
”Parliamentary elections are approaching, and SYL is focusing its advocacy work towards them. I want to ensure that we dare to be bold and determined for a more equal and fair student life,” Vilma commented.
Petra Pulli (HYY) was elected as the President of SYL. Other Board members are Aada Aho (TYY), Viena Pentikäinen (HYY), Emilia Enroth (ISYY), Marcel Berta (AYY), and Laura Heino (TREY).
A representative from OYY was last chosen to the Board of SYL for the year 2023, when Lotta Pennala (née Leinonen) was the Chair of the Board.
The National Union of University Students in Finland is a national organisation, whose members all Student Unions in Finland are. The yearly General Assembly chooses the Board as well as decides on the Action Plan, economy and policies of the Union. OYY had 13 representatives in the General Assembly.
