The Student Council approved the financial statement for the year 2025 and discussed objectives for the parliamentary elections
Objectives for the parliamentary elections will be discussed next in the open to all advocacy section on 15 April!
OYY works in different ways to promote a good life for students, and one of them is to bring students’ important issues to discussion during elections. We prepare for the upcoming parliamentary elections with common objectives, which we can bring forward in discussions with the local candidates. OYY’s board has prepared the objectives with the lead of the board member responsible for social affairs Saara Pesonen. The draft was presented for the student council in their meeting on 25 March, and it sparked a lively debate.
The student council members were mostly happy with the draft, but wished to see more local themes in it. Topics like universities’ funding and admission quotas were discussed. In addition, the student council members wanted to see firm demands and reasoning behind the objectives.
The objectives will be discussed next in the advocacy meeting, which is open to all students! It will be organised in Tellus Linnanmaa Backstage on Wednesday 15 April starting at 17. You can sign up until 9 April on kide.app.
