Student Representatives of the administration

A student representative is the voice of students in decision making. There are student reps in the University’s administration ranging from the Board of Directors to Degree Programme Committees.

Education Council

The Education Council supports the University Board of Directors and the rector in advancing education, provides initiatives regarding education policy as well as initiatives for developing teaching and evaluates the quality of University education. It supports University Board of Directors as an specialist council with regard to the education strategy. In addition to the vice rector of education, the director of academic affairs and student representatives, the council has education specialists from faculties and the Academic Affairs Specialist from the OYY.

The main working language of the Council has traditionally been English.

Two regular and two deputy members are elected from among the students for a two-year term. Student members who are not university staff receive a meeting fee of €41.20 per session. Study credits can be granted from the position.
