Student Representatives of the administration

A student representative is the voice of students in decision making. There are student reps in the University’s governance ranging from the Board of Directors to Degree Programme Committees.

FSHS’s Health Working Group (Oulu-Kokkola)

The FSHS’s Health Working Group promotes health and consists of the FSHS health centre of Oulu, the University of Oulu and its student union as well as the University of Applied Sciences of Kokkola and other parties. The working group designs and implements plans to promote students’ health, actively keeps in contact with other operators and spreads awareness of health knowledge on a local level.

OYY’s Specialist in Social Affairs is entitled to attend and speak in the meetings and supports the representatives in their task. Participating in the working group meetings does not award study credits or other rewards.

The Student Wellbeing Working Group

Student Wellbeing Working Group promotes the well-being and studying abilities of students as well as the consideration of students as members of the university community. The Working Group comprehensively processes matters pertaining to students’ wellbeing, studying abilities, living and communality, as well as to the guidance of studies. The Working Group also acts as a link and a coordinator between the work of different operators that promote the well-being of students. In addition to the Student Union, different operators of the University, the FSHS and the united parishes of the city of Oulu are represented in the multi-professional group. The Working Group holds meetings approx. four times a year.
